Hello,

I'm trying to sync a folder (A) to 2 differet targets (B, C).
If I sync a several times from A -> B comparison works and all is fine.
If I sync a several times from A -> C comparison works and all is fine.

But if I sync from A -> C after I synced from A -> B comparison does not work and all files of A are copied to C.
And if I sync from A -> B after I synced from A -> C comparison does not work and all files of A are copied to B.
As A contains a lot of files, this takes a lot of time :-(

I fear sync.ffs_db at the source (A) cannot store differences for 2 targets?
Is there a way to get it working inspite of this?

I would be happy if anyone can help me.

Best Regards

I do not understand why things go wrong in your case, but … :
It seems you are running the A=>B and A=>C syncs as separate syncs
(because you describe the syncs in terms of running these one "after" the other).
If these are A to B, respectively A to C Mirror or Update type syncs
(so: no files are transferred from B to A nor from C to A),
the sequence in which you run the syncs does not matter.
So, you can then also run those two syncs as a single sync, using two left-right pairs, the first one e.g. A=>B and the second one A=>C. See this Manual-page, item "Select multiple configurations at a time" or "Synchronize multiple folder pairs at a time with different configurations", or see the Tutorial on Tips & Tricks (at 1:30~2:00).
This will very likely solve your problem.

Hi Plerry,

thankyou for the reply.

I created two folder pairs A->B and A->C running as separate mirror jobs for updating a directory on 2 different tablet computers. A is a directory on a server share.

The tablets are connected to a PC (MTP, USB) where the sync command is executed.
The result was as described before.

But this setup was for test purposes only. Since I connected the tablets to 2 different pc (tablet1 to pc1 and tablet2 to pc2) and started sync on these 2 pc separately (1 folder pair only per pc) all is working fine.

Thankyou for the help! I'll test the multiple sync as described, too.
It's a very nice useful program!

Best Regards

Andrea
