Two-way star sync

I have a "server" and two (at the moment) locations. I want to work on the files, and always have the latest versions synced.
At the moment, I am not editing the files concurrently*, but I cannot ensure that I sync with the "server".

Is it possible that I can keep everything on the newest version? I can take the toll of resolving the differences myself if I have concurent modifications.

I was thinking: Do I need to care about "sync.ffs_db"?

I already read viewtopic.php?t=906, but I wasn't 100% if it fitted or not.

*Are the files synced with their timestamps intact? If not, it would be nice if it did happen like that
