Been syncing and backing up Windows machines for decades with ancient MS SyncToy via SSDs, but with a 2018 MacBook Pro in the house I had to resort to syncing via the WLAN, which is pathologically slow.
So I switched to FreeFileSync for Mac x-platform sync and backup via SSD, but a quick direct sync via WiFi would be much more convenient.
I attributed the WLAN-sync´s slowness to my Dells´ 9550 bad and 7390 very bad WiFi, but with FreeFileSync via a direct Thunderbolt 3 (20 GIGABITS!) connection between the 7390 and a 2018 MacBook Pro it´s similarly slow.
FreeFileSync´s Sync dialog seems to suggest that the preparation for a folder with 2 dozen files takes ca. 30 seconds while the actual copy is rather quick.
Windows Defender folder exclusion or off -- doesn´t make any difference.
I´d rrreally like to know why it´s so slow!
Thanks in advance!
