Hi All,

I sync over LAN to a NAS on the same network.

Why is FFSync usage being reported on my Ethernet connection and not my LAN?

There are basically two ways your computer connects to a LAN:
• wired, connecting an RJ45 (8-pin) Ethernet port on your computer via an Ethernet cable to your router, possibly via one or more switches
• wireless via WiFi
Apparently you use the first method (wired), and hence your computer's Ethernet port is used to connect to your LAN. And data flow to/from your LAN is reported for that Ethernet interface.

cheers!

yes i suspected that as the laptop sits on a Dock and uses that port.

Thought W10 would report correctly though if the data doesn't leave the LAN, bit misleading!

Obviously your laptop does not discriminate if data is local to your (V)LAN or goes external.
It simply lists the data leaving its Ethernet interface.
If you are interested in data leaving your LAN, likely your router can provide that information.
However, in turn, your router does not know if data leaving the LAN is FreeFileSync related or not.
