Filter files "Hide excluded items...

I thought this might let me see all the files found in compare but show the
ones that are excluded due to filters in blue.
Much like interactively excluding stuff form the file list showing in blue.

The "Hide excluded items" checkbox appears to do nothing.
Ive done a few searches in forums and via google and havnt found any useful
information.
Didnt find any thing in the help file either.

Might someone illuminate me ?

The checkbox hides all items that do not match the filer, so it will hide all
"blue rows".
