I reinstalled FreeFileSync 1.14 and have just backed up to the NAS. Unfortunately (or fortunately :)) no file error occurred.

Does it matter for testing whether "FFS 11.14" is standard or "Donation_Edition"?

but am happy to try 11.15 beta if you are looking for further testing. Or I'll just update to 11.15 when it is officially released and see if that solves the issue. When you encounter such a reproducible case again, a test with version 2, and if it fails, version 1 (in that order) would help a lot....

Question 2 is: if zero-byte files are indeed left behind each time, why is FFS getting ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND? Maybe it's a buffering issue? Unfortunately "FreeFileSync 11.15 Beta" does not solve the problem. I temporarily deal with copying bugs from FreeFileSync. I paste the messages into Excel, where I transform them into commands for the BATCH script. So far, this is a working alternative.

I have the same problem with my NAS drive. The error "ERROR_FILE_EXISTS: The file exists. [CopyFileEx]" makes it very difficult to sync data. From what I read, there is little chance that FreeFileSync will handle it. Is it possible for FreeFileSync to create a BATCH file in such a situatio...
