Hi Zenju --
So wanted to follow up here, bad news -- exactly what I was afraid of finally happened. My mounted source drive appeared empty due to the mysterious SMB networking bug, and FFS's sync therefore deleted the entire synced drive's contents (with a handful of errors that left a handful of ...

Re: Clarification on LockDirectoriesDuringSync / sync.ffs_lock
Thanks so much for the reply Zenju.
Huh, OK -- very interesting, thanks. In both Finder and Terminal, the folder appears like a regular empty folder as far as I can tell, e.g. "ls" behaves normally except lists nothing.
I didn't know FFS had a 50% change warning, so that's good to know -- is that ...

Hi @mariosm1cy --
For me on a Mac, you can find the setting when, from the main window, you click the cloud icon next to the "Browse" button for the "source" or "destination" fields. That brings up the "connection type" dialog where you pick the cloud account, and Google Drive connections have a ...

Re: CURLE_OPERATION_TIMEDOUT on specific Google Drive files
Fantastic -- thanks so much!! Great news. I can't test the Windows version since I'm on a Mac but I'll let you know if I ever run into the problem again once 11.18 comes out.

CURLE_OPERATION_TIMEDOUT on specific Google Drive files
Hi --
Loving FFS as always, and thanks Zenju for your previous help [1] in steering me to FFS's built-in Google Drive sync support.
Unfortunately, I've run into an intermittent but deterministic problem, which is that when I try to back up files from my Google Drive to my local hard drive, there ...

Re: [Feature Request] Average Speed on Progress window
+1 as well. My speed fluctuates wildly depending on whether it's in the middle of copying a single large file, or tons of small ones. Would be nice to know on average how much internet it's using, as well as for time remaining.

brew install support?
Was curious if support for "brew install" (previously "brew cask install") is ever planned for FreeFileSync? I recently had to reinstall all my Mac software, and FFS was one of the maybe just two or three apps I had to perform a manual install for, rather than all the rest which either automatically ...

Big Sur-style Mac icon?
Was curious if FreeFileSync ever plans to implement a native rounded-rectangle Big Sur-style icon?

Re: Feature request: new option for "detect moved files"
Oh, it never even occurred to me FFS had anything but regular filesystem support, I don't know why. Of course, now I see you have built-in Drive support, I'll try using that. Thanks so much for the helpful and quick reply!

Feature request: new option for "detect moved files"
I love FFS, and use it specifically with my Mac because of its "detect moved file" features. I use it mainly to back up files from a main external hard drive to a backup external hard drive, and since I regularly move 100's of GB's of files between folders, it works like a charm.
However, now I'd ...

Re: Batch job on Mac -- Calendar always launches it twice
Huh, thanks. I just tried running the batch job manually twice right now, and indeed the second one says "waiting while directory is in use". Which was definitely not the case this morning, there were two simultaneous file copy operations happening. Maybe a race condition since Calendar presumably ...

Re: Batch job on Mac -- Calendar always launches it twice
Thanks xCSxXenon -- I'm not so sure about the locks though. When I opened my computer this morning, it was indeed running the two identical backup jobs simultaneously -- each one was in the middle of copying a different file. Are you saying that's not supposed to happen?

Batch job on Mac -- Calendar always launches it twice
I've run into a serious problem scheduling a nightly backup on my Mac. I had this problem on my previous Mac, but I recently did a fresh install on a brand-new Mac and the same problem continues so thought I'd post here.
I follow the instructions for scheduling a backup using Calendar at: https ...
