Re: OneDrive

Use Dropbox. Using OneDrive was a nightmare. My workflow is all master files reside on my X drive. I then use FFS to mirror those files to my Dropbox folder on C: drive. After Dropbox syncs, you can left click on the Dropbox folder and force it to delete all files on your C drive. So, X to C to Clou...

Re: FFS Issue with OneDrive File Status

I believe L is resparse point. And your statement that "free up space" strips off P and is still available has me totally confused. I've had Microsoft moderators tell me the same thing but the Microsoft documentation does not say that. The docs state that "free up space" only app...

Re: FFS Issue with OneDrive File Status

I appreciate the help. Maybe there is something wrong with my install, but your description of operation has me confused. Are you saying that Free Up Space will always work and delete ALL files from OneDrive? It will remove both the keep on machine (pinned) and local files (unpinned)? If so, what is...

Re: FFS Issue with OneDrive File Status

Zenju, thanks for checking this for me. I don't understand something. If the file is Pinned (True), then it should be "always available" and the "free up space" command will not work at the folder level. You need to highlight the file and change status to "locally available....

FFS Issue with OneDrive File Status

I use FFS to make a mirror copy of my X: drive into the OneDrive folder on my C: drive. Once all of the new files are synced in the cloud, I want to use the OneDrive "Free Up Space" command to delete the files off of my C: drive. Most of the process works great except that all of the files...

Re: Problem with OneDrive

I've been able to dig up a little more info on my problem. Shown below are the file attributes used by OneDrive: - online-only FILE_ATTRIBUTE_PINNED : False FILE_ATTRIBUTE_UNPINNED : True FILE_ATTRIBUTE_RECALL_ON_DATA_ACCESS : True - locally available FILE_ATTRIBUTE_PINNED : False FILE_ATTRIBUTE_UNP...

Re: Problem with OneDrive

Actually, MS did not recommend them. They just assumed I have system corruption and recommended I reinstall Windows and all of my programs and apps. I ran sfc, repaired Windows, and I still have the problem with OneDrive. For some reason FFS sets the file flag to "keep" when making the cop...

Re: Problem with OneDrive

Thanks. That would be the ideal solution since i could then bypass the C: drive completely. Latest from MS is I have system corruption even though I told them I just did sfc repair followed by Dism to confirm. Actually, the guy admitted he didn't know what was wrong, that's a first.

Problem with OneDrive

Microsoft has been no help so maybe some one on here can help. I currently store a large number of files on my X: drive. To back them up to the cloud I use FFS to make a mirror copy into my OneDrive folder. That part works great, thank you FFS! After OneDrive syncs all of the new files with the clou...
