Re: Only sync base folders that exist on one side

In the filter(s) described, I could just as easily set up directory pairs for each folder. Keep in mind we are talking a lot more than 4 folders. And from one run to another those folders can change, next time MyJobs could be D, G, M, Q. So not really possible to create a batch job to sync MyJobs, I ...

Re: Only sync base folders taht exist on one side

Note the example above of folders, loses its tab spacing, when I submit it to the blog.
So I had to reverse the left and right sides for it to appear logically.
Myjobs is on the left side in FreeFileSync and AllJobs is on the right as described with the filter results.

Re: Preserving dates and times of directories

I was inaccurate earlier about Nirsoft FolderTimeUpdate. It can set the Creation Date AND the Last Modified Date. The Modified Time Options >> no change >> newest modified time >> newest created time >> oldest modified time >> oldest created time The Created Time options >> no change >> same as the ...

Re: FreeFileSync is not free.

FFS is fine and so is the Donation Edition model it uses. You are not paying for the perks, your donating to the author, the perks (totally not needed for functionality) are his little thanks for the donation. I have used FFS for many years its hands down the best sync tool out there. Sometimes when ...

Re: Preserving dates and times of directories

@ Zenju: I can understand that. By the way, thanks for such a great product! The Nirsoft solution is just fine with me. Very fast and I can add it to the end of my batch FFS runs for the folders that need accurate dates. It can be run from a batch file as well as the GUI. The nirsoft page provides a ...

Re: Preserving dates and times of directories

I tried the Nirsoft FolderTimeUpdate tool mentioned earlier. It worked great and it was pretty quick on about 900 folders. But I have to agree it would be a whole lot better if it worked within FreeFileSync. See: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/folder_time_update.html I keep client and job folders, a ...
