Re: please add webDAV
I'm not sure whether adding WebDAV on FreeFileSync would solve the speed problem. I've read that WebDAV is normally slow whatever application you use due to it being rather outdated (and there's not much push to improve it since cloud providers prefer a vendor lock-in through their own apps rather t...

Re: [FEATURE REQUEST] Сompare files only by name. Ignoring extension, size, etc
I also would like that feature, comparison using only filenames, be added. That could help circumvent some bugs such as modification time being altered to current time when transferring from Android to PC. That would allow the use case of transferring pics from a phone where each pic has a distinct ...

Re: Please help with timestamps/Android: "Warning: Cannot write modification time" | "silently ignored by the device"
You're not alone. It's a problem that has occurred again and again, including in my device. I have done some research about this issue before, and what I found matched with what you have observed: it is a software issue, not a hardware one, specifically on the MTP implementation. Here are some solut...

Re: File Comparing Options
I think two-way already covers your goals. On default, it propagates the latest changes which is what you want. Sync conflict only occurs if you edited the exact same file on both sides (e.g., editing File1.txt on the left folder and editing File1.txt on the right folder will confuse the program, on...

Re: Encrypted online backups with FreeFileSync?
I haven't tried Cryptomator yet, only read discussions about its latest file extension, .c9r, being considered as ransomware by OneDrive. Though thanks for letting me know your experience, I may try it in the future. Btw I currently settled on using password-protected 7z archives instead, using 7-Zi...

Re: Free File Sync 12.3 not showing last synchronization time correctly
Maybe you have more than 1 instance of the app opened? Bizarrely, FreeFileSync default on allowing multiple instances. The time listed will be the one on the last instance you closed. If for example, you have 2 windows open: A - the 1st window you opened but never did any syncing B - the 2nd window ...

Re: Encrypted online backups with FreeFileSync?
Thanks for replying, though I have checked both but none satisfies my needs. For VeraCrypt, the problem is it's a single file. Syncing a 10GB file is quite fast on a local drive, but may take hours to a cloud storage. I can break it down over several containers, but that would be tedious to update. ...

Encrypted online backups with FreeFileSync?
Is there a way to create encrypted online backups with FreeFileSync, whether alone or in combination with another program? I know that this isn't the main goal of the app, that there are apps designed for that purpose. However, I noticed that such apps are often not user-friendly, having CLI instead...

Re: Extermly slow synchronization with my new flash drive
Copying multiple small files are always much slower than copying 1 large file, even if they have the same total, due to various reasons: https://superuser.com/questions/808279/why-does-copying-individual-files-take-so-much-longer-than-one-large-file That's why they are not comparable, especially sin...

Re: FreeFileSync is not free.
I think it would be better to treat the freemium model as a spectrum, where on one side lies totally free, while on the other totally paid. With that, I would agree that FFS is freemium, but at the same time, it lies very near to the totally free side. Aside from being feature-packed and having supe...

Re: Crash during Android Phone sync
Fixed! Turns out the MTP device proposes a buffer size of only 1 byte, which is unexpected for FFS and it deliberately crashes. The reason for this size is that the file in question also has only 1 byte as content, and the "optimal buffer size" is trimmed to the file size for whatever rea...
