Re: How to cancel a FFS batch job when removable drive isn't connected
The last time I wrote BAT files was maybe 1993. Guess I'm gonna have to do a little studying.

Re: How to cancel a FFS batch job when removable drive isn't connected
I'm aware of RTS and have used it before. My need is about 180 degrees opposite to that. When I'm at home, the backup drive is always plugged in, so it wouldn't trigger RTS by being attached. The backups run on schedule. When I'm away from home and the backup drive is left at home, the regularly sch...

How to cancel a FFS batch job when removable drive isn't connected
I'm using FreeFileSync to back up to a removable drive. The backup details are saved in a FFS batch file that is run by Windows 11 Task Scheduler. When the removable drive is not connected, FFS tries to run the batch job and pops up error messages about its inability to find the drive and folders to...

Re: Copying Macrium images to a second drive
After I posted this, I discovered the Forfiles command. Looks like that might be the solution. Have Windows Task Scheduler kick off a BAT file with the deletion from Forfiles, then run FFS to bring over the new image. I'm going to play with it on some test files.
Thanks, @xCSxXenon.

Copying Macrium images to a second drive
I do a full image of my C:\ drive with Macrium Reflect once each month. The rest of the days of the month, I have Macrium do an incremental backup. All these go to my D:\ drive, which is a separate USB HDD external to my laptop. Macrium is set to retain three months of full and incremental backups, ...

Turning off notification sound and screen for one batch job from RTS
I have several different batch jobs saved. Some are triggered by Task Manager and some I just run manually when I need them. There is one specific batch job that I trigger by RealTimeSync. For just this job-Is there any way to turn off the notification sound and avoid opening the FFS window that tra...

Re: Batch files ran more recently than reported
Thanks, Zenju. I'm looking forward to when it's fixed.
Am I correct in assuming that the jobs did run correctly, since the logs look good?

Batch files ran more recently than reported
I have three batch files which are launched nightly by Windows Task Scheduler. They run one at a time, about 15 minutes apart. Each night, Task Scheduler reports that they started when they should and that they finished successfully. And FFS saves a log of all their activity for that run, which look...

Re: Windows Task Manager trigger for USB device connection
Yes, sorry for the confusion. I did mean "Task Scheduler".
After just a quick look at the RTS help, I'm going to give it a try. Thanks!

Windows Task Manager trigger for USB device connection
Not exactly a FFS internal function, but... I'd like to use Windows 11 Task Manager to start a FFS batch job whenever I connect a specific USB device. For example, backing up some items off my phone, or copying certain data to a specific USB drive or memory stick. The steps to create the FFS batch j...
