I think I've solved this; I changed the setting for Symbolic links from exclude to follow - is this a new option in FFS? It worked last time on this machine (around 4 months ago).

FFS reports all files in sync, but they aren't
I've edited some files on my local hard drive and run FFS to sync the changes to a NAS. FFS reports all files in sync almost instantly, but the changed files aren't being copied to the NAS.
