Thanks, but it doesn't behave that way with the Lexar (FAT32). There is definitely something up with the PNY stick. Even when transferring a 480MB file from hard disk to PNY (exFAT), the TeraCopy progress bar does the same thing... it stops and starts in fits. If it's taking so freaking long to ...

As to the questions regarding the previous FFS mirror screw-up on the PNY memory stick that is not an FFS bug (no, not our flawless FFS!! ;) ) ...but due to the stick, I learned why!

W764 & FFS 5.12

I used to love this program but some months back after an update I guess, it started slowing to a crawl. Took 2 min to transfer 1.8 megabytes of data! Another thread says 5.11 fixed the problem, but I updated to 5.12 and it's still the same thing. :(

UPDATE: For people who don't ...

Path was F:\Docs\Text Files\... and all files within this folder, including
all files in all its subfolders and nested folders... I did see the log but
can't really make sense of it though I did see this path there and the folders
and files with a "(1)"... and no, they were not the files to be ...

Just an update that I copied over the files including the ones on the memory
stick with the originals that did not have "(1)" in the name... and took the
stick to Laptop #2 and FreeFileSync worked beautifully, putting all the
updated files where they belong.

Went back to Laptop #1 and worked on ...

was mirroring by adding a "(1)" to the end of the file name. That's 1.6 GB
worth of files. It renamed them on the laptop itself, and on the memory stick
