OK, starting from scratch did help. It now works. Unfortunately I don't know what was wrong.

- The task is configured in the Task Scheduler exactly as described in the FreeFileSync documentation (I think). It runs under username Admin, with full privileges. When I log in on the desktop, also with user Admin, and I start the task manually through Server Manager, I see ...

Actually, I have never seen any windows when running under the task scheduler, but that is probably because I was logged in under a different user.
I have set "Close progress dialog" and ignoring errors.

But does it also close all FFS-Windows when finished?
Did you select "Close progress dialog" under Synchronization Settings?
If not, FFS might be waiting for you to click an OK (or the like).

FreeFileSync jos running under Windows Task scheduler do not finish and are killed by the Task Scheduler run limit, currently set to 24 hours. As far as I can see, the actual syncing has been done. When I run it in the foreground it finishes within an hour.
