Macro for Source or Destination or left or right drive?

I want FFS to move old files into a timestamp-folder on the drive from which they came. Is there a macro/label that I can use instead of the drive letter? That way, I can bidrectionally sync or swap sides and old files will be retained on their respective drive. Thanks.

Re: Most efficient way to sync directories with differing time stamps but equal contents

Solved my own problem. I did not realize that comparing contents will also compare timestamps and touch those accordingly rather than do a full move/copy.

Most efficient way to sync directories with differing time stamps but equal contents

The most efficient way to sync is to match timestamps and size. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, some of my backups have many differing timestamps that cannot be aligned by an offset. If I now revert to matching contents, the differing timestamps remain and on future syncs, I'm left with the same...

Re: Macros do not expand within filters

Bump. I've attached some pictures that illustrate the problem.

The following screenshot shows the macro having no effect:
Filter settings using '*\%year%\'
Filter settings using '*\%year%\'
macro.PNG (54.72 KiB) Viewed 524 times
While this screenshot shows the numeric value filtering as expected:
Filter settings using '2020'
Filter settings using '2020'
2020.PNG (47.02 KiB) Viewed 524 times
Thank you for your help.

Macros do not expand within filters

Given the following directory structure to mirror but excluding the 2020 subdirectory,
C:\temp\1\
C:\temp\1\2020\

using the filter *\2020\ works, but not the macro *\%year%\. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thank you.

UI suggestion

Next to the synchronize button, display the versioning path where files will be moved. This would save the user time in having to drill down into the synchronizing settings each time to confirm where files will be moved.

Syncing by file time, size and content...

I want to sync by content and then 'touch' all files to mirror their modification time. Is there a way to do this in one fell swoop rather than by two separate compares?

Thank you.
