Which limitation in 8.1 are you talking about?

Including *.txt and excluding nothing is sufficient. You are excluding everything from the subset of all .txt files.

This rule will be relaxed again with 8.1 (release later today) to allow copying and using the portable version on systems other than the one where the installation occured and without having to install on a usb stick.Zenju

Install it in portable mode on a different system (since 8.0 it will be bound to the installed system so use 7.9) or extract it with InnoUnp (8.0 won't work that way).

Your drive seems to have some corrupted sectors. What happens when copying these files manually from Explorer?

What about the preview? Don't you check the list for changes anyway? I don't just blindly hit "Synchronize".

That's not quite true since the root of the problem is the Most Troublesome Protocol (MTP). Even the Windows Explorer is crashing when trying to copy/move/rename files on a MTP-device. FreeFileSync has no issues detecting moved files and folders, but this requires a database file as a reference.Zenju
