RunWithBackgroundPriority might help. To change between day and night handling, probably you'll need to play with WindowsScheduler, as the param is set in GlobalSettings.xml.

Perhaps an alternative way would be to add an option to auto-create the destination folder and NOT generate an error at all. +1 I use FFS daily to transport data via USB-Stick, where usually the target folder does not exist, so it get's quite a nuisance to hit, "yes, create it" over and o...
