Can FFS compare 2 spreadsheets (in different files) and highlight their differences?
Thanks,
Dan

Re: FFS is not deleting target files automatically
The "pdf in the middle" (...yaakov_bookletarpeggios.pdf") was in the (H:\) target directory because it correctly got copied from the same-named directory in the source (C:\). I later moved this pdf (from the source) elsewhere and expected the next run of FFS to do likewise (in the target). However ...

Re: FFS is not deleting target files automatically
Are the 2 Google drive links I just uploaded of any help?
One of the screenshots shows all 5 errors from a run I just made and the other screenshot shows the source ("C:\") and target ("H:\)" drives I am using.

Re: FFS is not deleting target files automatically
I live in Florida so not surprising that I use English, though I do use special characters like this: ("←") =ALT+27
in my files.
I would have thought that all I had to do was give FFS the same permission that I have to manually delete a file, but I'm unsure how to do that.

Re: FFS is not deleting target files automatically
I was syncing my main HDD to an external HDD and am not using versioning.
Is there a way I can cut and paste a screenshot of my source/target FFS gui in this forum?

Re: FFS is not deleting target files automatically
Yes, there was an access error reported by FFS which I don't have handy but can reproduce, if necessary. I was able to go to the target directory and manually delete the target file(s) through Windows but would prefer for FFS to do so without my intervention.

FFS is not deleting target files automatically
After the synchronization has occurred, whenever target files do not match with source files (typically because I moved the source files to another directory or deleted them), FreeFileSync does not delete the unmatched target file (I think because it does not have the security authority). I'm ...

lightning bolt icon - what does it mean?!?
What exactly does the following error message mean and what should I do about it?
"BOTH SIDES HAVE CHANGED SINCE LAST OPERATION"
i.e., will the synchronization default by using the file with the newer time-stamp?
Thanks,
Dan

Hello!
I created a new file on the target (right) side and used the MIRROR option expecting this new file to be deleted (since it did not exist on the source (left) side) after running FFS. However, upon completion the file remained on the target (right) side. Isn't this contrary to the purpose of ...

Re: Error code 5: Access is denied
I right-clicked on the FFS icon and RAN AS ADMIN - worked for me as well!
Why is this not documented in the FFS "manual" (or if it is it's not easy to find; they should have a tab for their error codes).
