I was able to get it to run by creating a launcher on the desktop and then pointing the executable to /opt/FreeFileSync\ (2)/FreeFileSync where I had placed the FFS files. It worked!

I've been a fan of FFS for windows for some time and have just recently switched over to Linux.
I'm having trouble figuring out how to make a desktop link to FFS on my Linux Mint 18 desktop.
