I found the answer myself. FFS is included in the LM SW Manager.

To get FFS the Linux Mint SW Manager's settings need to be adjusted.

edit > SW sources > additional repositories > check Getdeb

This setting gives access to an ubuntu-trusty (14.04) repository.

which version of FFS is needed? [SOLVED]

I am running Linux Mint 17.3 "Rosa" - KDE (64-bit. and 32-bit), which is based on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

Which version of FFS can I use?
Where can I download the needed version?
