Silent install?

The only reason I'd like a silent install option is so that the project can be supported by patchmypc.com Does anyone else use this app to patch up their apps? It will only support apps that are free, or freemium, or FOSS, and have silent installers. FFS is unsupported since it doesn't have a silent...

Drive mapped as NTFS folder

Hi everybody. I've got about 2TB data backed up with Free File Sync. I used to have it one folder on an internal HD to one NAS drive folder, but recently, I have installed a second drive and put half my data on to it. Now, to keep Dropbox happy (my second, offsite back-up), I have mounted the new HD...

Two way sync on Windows via NAS

Mapped network drive, hosted on a NAS device (and therefore its file system is I think ext4, certainly Linux based). Windows accessing by mapped drive letter Z: Use of NAS predates free file sync installation and is the "live copy". This cannot be changed easily as some other software conf...

Re: Get FFS to send an email

HEADS UP!! Original powershell in Windows 7 does not support alternate port numbers for SMTP. Edit the final line to not include ''-Port $SMTP_Port'' and remove line 5. OR if you require alternate portnumber function to send out, upgrade powershell in Windows to v3.0 https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us...

Get FFS to send an email

There are loads of ways to install a commandline SMTP client, but Powershell has one built in and so you can configure FFS to run the powershell script at the end. Here are my notes to myself on how, pieced together from suggestions around the web... Step One Save the smtp email password in a secure...

Handle Errors Ignore - Does not save across sessions

I've been using FreeFileSync for ages, found it to be pretty bullet-proof and feature-full, but today I think I found a bug. Under the Synchronise settings (green cog), if Ignore is chosen for Handle Errors option, and the configuration is saved to an ffs_batch file, then FFS is closed and reopened ...
