Anyway, it could be more easy to begin changing the aspect of the text one by one. I think that those informations of rich text must be included inside the .ffs_gui file itself.
It should be easy because its a kind of XML.

Re: Feature request: Change font look in configuration
Nice idea. Anything is possible! How much effort is another.
If the text component being used already supports character formatting (rich text) then perhaps not too difficult. Otherwise who knows.
Grouping is the key here is it not? Perhaps some sort of grouping idea could be made note of for ...

Re: NOOB: Basic Real Time Sync help
All I want to do is use Real Time Sync to back up my Photos and Documents folders from my internal (I) to external (J )drive. I don't understand what commands to use. Is there a simple noob-friendly manual? Thanks.

Have you tried FTP? I've had good success with FTP to sync Android tablets - not tried with a Galaxy S7.

Re: View only files that are on both paths!
Doesn't FFS already handle this very neatly. After a compare it only shows actions, the other "threlve zillion files" are automatically hidden unless you click the "Show files that are equal" button.files that exist on both paths AND require synchronizationDavid.P

Is there a way to "uncheck all" and then check only the items that are currently wanted to execute?
When I select "Exclude All" I no longer have the option to check the individual items I want to execute.
Try this...

Re: manually override sync direction for a job
Zargron, thanks for responding. I looked at the two gear icons (odd, one says local sync settings, the other says local comparison setting, but they go to the same place.). don't see a way to tell ffs to mirror or update in a particular direction, which may change from sync to sync, without ...

Re: Disable automatic update
I agree - a little disappointing. I'm running version 8.5. It has menu option to un-tick "Check automatically once a week", (under "Help" menu). Appears to set <LastOnlineCheck> 35539 </LastOnlineCheck> in GlobalSettings.xml.

Re: manually override sync direction for a job
Sorry if you've already tried this... A feature i really like in FFS is the opportunity to set "local comparison, filter and synchronization" settings, (the little buttons between folder pairs). In other words, you can have special filter & synchronization settings for a couple of folder pairs ...

Re: Clarification on Update Sync option
Yep - you want Update...
- Update should NOT change anything in SOURCE location.
- It copies new and modified files to DESTINATION location.
- It does NOT delete any files from either location.

Re: Feature request - Automatic sync in background
See this link: https://freefilesync.org/manual.php?topic=schedule-a-batch-job
If using windows, to sync in the background at a scheduled time, save your settings as a "batch job" then create a task in the windows "Task Scheduler" to make it run whenever you want.

Perhaps tried "run with highest privileges"?

Easy... Use the time span option available from within Filter synchronization settings.

Re: restart after batch is complete?
Well, you could run FFS from a script. When you save your batch job, perhaps set:
Handle Errors =Stop
On Completion =Close progress dialogue
If you are using windows, create a BAT file that contains something like this:
@echo off
REM Run FFS batch job as specified by first parameter ...

Re: Comparing files in 2 folders with different sub folder tree
The primary purpose of FreeFileSync (FFS) is to duplicate the file/folder structure of one location with the file/folder structure of another location. In other words, make the content a source location, exactly the same as a destination location. Your question seems to indicate that you want FFS to ...

Re: Feature Request: Limiting Versions
I'm loving FFS and also feel "Limiting Versions" would be a very valuable feature to add. IMHO, as is often the case in this type of scenario, a small but significant change might accommodate 90% of user requirements. BTW: i haven’t used an edition of FFS that contains versioning. Needless to say ...
