Re: FreeFileSync restores deleted files at the target directory

In filesystem like NTFS, each file have a file ID, reside inside the MFT file record of each file, no matter how you change or move the file on the same NTFS volume, the file ID would remain the same. FreeFileSync use the file ID provided by the filesystem and store it into the database file sync.ff...

Re: Bug Report - Incomplete %ComputerName%

Since I figure out the limitations of %ComputerName% and not a bug in the first place, I make it into a feature request instead.

Re: Bug Report - Incomplete %ComputerName%

Curious.
If you run HOSTNAME from a C: prompt, does that show ASUS-VIVIOBOOK-S14 or ASUS-VIVIOBOOK- ?

C:\> HOSTNAME

(Seems the maximum length can be >15, but certain features, like NETBIOS may not work as expect with longer length names.) therube, 29 Nov 2023, 18:08
Result is ASUS-VIVIOBOOK-S14

Pause function for comparing file content

Comparing the file content of huge amounts of files between 2 drives can be a lengthy process, there would be some situations that would be needed to pause the comparing operation, without having to cancel and then compare the already compared files over again. Is it possible to implement this funct...

Re: Revert to text log files!

I agree with florentine. These are log files. parsing HTML is difficult compared to plain text, XML, JSON, etc. Also the logs take up more space. I manage a number of systems that generate different logs from various software. Initially I used to email the log files to myself and manually check the...

First of all, I think FreeFileSync is so far the best free(for freedom, not the price) file sync software, keep up the good job Zenju. I've been using FreeFileSync on syncing FTPES folders for quite a while, I would like to use it for web development team to sync the website files between team membe...
