Re: Open Source? Is it true ?

I found some notes on compiling FFS for the version of Linux that runs on older Raspberry Pis and have tried to keep them up-to-date: https://github.com/pmkees/build-FreeFileSync-on-raspberry-pi/releases Can't speak to steps to compile on Windows or MacOS. Until the FreeFileSync Foundation starts fu...

Build instruction for FFS v11.14 on RaspberryPi OS

Just a brief note that I blew the dust off some old build instructions for those interested in running FreeFileSync on RaspberryPi running RaspberryPi OS (previously called Raspbian). They are at: https://github.com/pmkees/build-FreeFileSync-on-raspberry-pi The executable can't create a Google Drive...

Re: Error compiling FreeFileSync 11.14 on Ubuntu (20.04/21.04)

I saw that openssl3 was officially released and noticed the increased const declarations needed if using FFSv11.13 with openssl3 (so the inverse of the changes needed for FFSv11.14 w/openssl1.1.1).

@bgstack15 You've motivated me to refresh the Raspbian build instructions 👍

Re: Compilation error

Thanks bgstack15 for the hints! Before your edits, I tried the latest gcc 10 compiler (10.3) but it didn't change anything. I hit one other problem (related to zen/legacy_compiler.cpp if memory serves me right) I took a shortcut and copied an earlier version of the file to successfully finished comp...

Re: trying to compile for raspberrypi

Is there anything stopping a snap being made of freefilesync for raspberrypi? I know they're not the most efficient but seem to make a lot of sense. Particularly for small programs like this? Hi travo101- agreed that this is a situation where a snap would make sense (app has specific library depend...

Re: trying to compile for raspberrypi

Hi olvin- My bad. There seems to be a known problem with GTK2 supporting high-DPI monitors. I'm not particularly smart or experienced here so I'm pretty sure what I did is not the the correct way to handle things, but since I don't have a high DPI monitor, I just commented out that check in the dc.h...

Re: trying to compile for raspberrypi

I was inspired by olvin's effort so I forked Subere's Raspbian build instructions and updated it for v11.3 (current FreeFileSync version as of this writing). It's at: https://github.com/pmkees/build-FreeFileSync-on-raspberry-pi Probably worth a full review after the next major upgrade of Raspbian/Ra...

Re: trying to compile for raspberrypi

Many thanks, Subere.
GCC compilation is a beast but FFS 10.25 is up-and-running on my RPi 3B+
