Re: Can I keep file's date ?

You ought to change the title or repost this as a new thread. Call it "Preserve Directory Creation Dates".

The title "can I keep file's date" is misinformative on several levels. The first thing I thought when I saw it is "some guy doesn't understand how you know which way to sync things." LOL!

Re: Can I keep file's date ?

I can't think of a reason why not. Can anyone else?
Are you saying you cannot think of a reason why the sync software couldn't preserve the directory's creation date, but change only the modification date attached to that directory? (Of course, also changing modification dates for any files ...

Re: How to Optimize A Multi-Directory Backup

In setup 3, there's no need for any delays at all. In setup 2, I could start
these with a MUCH shorter delay: the only purpose behind it is to ensure that
the FFS instances running the "s" scripts each have enough time to get started
and create their lockfiles before any of the "h" instances are ...

Re: How to Optimize A Multi-Directory Backup

Just so I don't leave anyone wondering, yes, I took caching into account and
started with a clean slate every time.

dependent from filter settings like "time span" or "file size" (but it is

Re: Limit duration in WAN environments

To get smallest files to sync first, see my discussion post How to Optimize AMulti-Directory Backup . FFS already does a very smart job in how it orders
its processing, to avoid using any more file space than is necessary, and this
workaround was developed exactly for the scenario you are describing ...

Re: How to Optimize A Multi-Directory Backup

Correction: There is a serious typo in my message. The size boundary I used was 200 _kilobytes_, not 200 mb!

How to Optimize A Multi-Directory Backup

This forum entry is to pass along some interesting results I've achieved in
speeding up FreeFileSync's performance when backing up files across a slow
network connection. This has been a result of a long discussion with Zenju
regarding Feature Request ID: 3482558 (Optimized Order of Sync Actions ...
