Re: Batch Job and Logging
That's not possible. Basically two situations are recognized: 1. user attended 2. non-attended 1: All messages are redirected to the sync-dialog screen and error messages are collected for the final result. 2: everything is moved into a logfile - no reason for showing visual results This should work...

Yes, this was the "old" design. With the new version this problem
won't occur anymore.

First of all, I'd suggest you simply try it out ;)
FreeFileSync's top features are probably performance and usability. For a more
or less complete feature list see Readme.txt.

This is very strange, your configuration is okay, basically this should work. I tried on my PC (with your exclude strings) and excluding "System Volume Information" worked correctly. In order to track this problem down, could you do a test: Since you get this error message during traversin...

Re: .deb package for Ubuntu
Technically, It'd be no problem at all to have the same aproach for Linux like for Windows: I.e. have a portable and an installer-based(deb.package) version that reads writes from OS dependent directories as mentioned. Currently there's "just" the portable version for Linux which should su...

Re: Automatic error handling in 2.3
It's hard to decide what is the best behaviour in this case: On the one hand it might be that a source folder temporarily is not accessible by accident which leads to a deletion in target folder, which is data loss! On the other hand it this might be the INTENDED behaviour, because one specified a n...

Re: Automatic error handling in 2.3
Alright, error handling is somewhat complex, so here is the behaviour of a batch run as it SHOULD be implemented: silent mode: ------------------- - ignore errors: ignores errors and warnings and continues - exit with rc < 0: exits process immediately on errors or warnings - show popup: shows a popu...

I'd have a look at the XML-files directly. They're not that complex so you
could create a new XML with the new format and copy & paste configuration
from the old XMLs into it.

Unfortunately this new structure is not compatible with the old layout. However this should be the first and last time that folder pair configuration i...

Yes, i think that's better, because for example i'm making a mirror of my portable hard drive, and i have this drive with FAT32 and instead of "Recycler", FAT32 uses "Recycled" as the name for recycled bin. Like this you would have to cover all partition types to know what folde...

Hi, and thanks for developing this great application, and giving it to the world for free. I only want to ask why did you removed the equal sign from the filter view at the bottom?
