Re: Free File Sync Mirror does not match byte for byte
You click compare and see differences on both sides. you then click sync and both sides should be blank when the sync is complete. If that's the case then you're in sync.

Re: Free File Sync Mirror does not match byte for byte
When FFS finishes it's mirror sync, does its interface show that the sync was good and no files are left to copy from either side to the other?

My question would be... why would you want to do that? This looks like a job for a cloning software like Macrium Reflect.

Feature Request: Pre and Post Batch commands
I didn't know how to post a feature request so i'm putting it here. Like in this post: [404, Invalid URL: https://sourceforge.net/p/freefilesync/feature-requests/43/]. I want to expand the current post batch run that only allows for system shutdown, logoff, standby or close close process dialog to i...

You do a file copy in windows explorer then delete the original files. FFS is for syncing file directories.

Re: Hint for the Scheduling feature
Changing it to a click would not be logical as this isn't a scheduling feature but a batch job that can be run from the command Line or through an external scheduler.

Re: Hint for the Scheduling feature
Scheduling is not built into FFS. If you want to schedule a Sync just create the command line execution and schedule it in the windows task scheduler. "Lazy" and "Dummy" is no way to go through life. ;)

Create a batch file that runs one sync then checks for first sync success before running second sync. Have this batch called by your registry RUN command.

Re: Restore from versioning folder.
My belief is that this is a File Synchronization tool not a true backup application. I use it to keep folders in sync from my PC to my external hard drive then use a backup program to backup and restore. The versioning feature to me is just as an oops option not a true restore feature. You would nee...

Re: Sync with vm that is off half of the time - what to do about 'folder not found' error?
I would just package this into a batch file and the first thing it does is check fir the existence of the other machine and then the existence of the destination directory. If the directory doesn't exist then bypass the sync.

Re: deleted all my Files in 10 seconds without asking!
Test environment, you just need to make a full or subset copy of your source and destination and repeat your steps against that. Again what version are you running? I'm at 5.15. Copies of the configs would be good to see to know exactly what they were set to do. I see too many users downloading this...
