Add \sub3a\* to the include filter,
and
add \sub3a\sub3b\* to the exclude filter

If you only want to include all files in sub3a, but none of the sub3a subfolders,
you should add \sub3a\*\* to the exclude filter, instead of \sub3a\sub3b\*

Upon defining a new sync, but particularly also after updating the software I make it a habit of first running a comparision and then evaluate if the comparison results match my expectations. Just some hints:
* Verify that the .txt-file meets the criteria of your include filter
* Verify that the .txt-file does not meet the criteria of your exclude filter
* Verify that you are using the correct left-right folders
* Look at the results of (just) running a compare, and the suggested actions

Are those 4 folders really folders, or are they actually links?
If these folders are links, you might need to set the Symbolic Link handling to "Follow"
in the comparison settings.

This already possible.
Just specify in the include-part of the file/folder filter
which files or file-types should be included.
E.g.: change the * (all) into *.jpg to include only jpg-files

It almost sounds like a disappointment ;-)

FFS does not support directly accessing FTP volumes.
However, indirectly it does, by mapping a FTP web space to a drive letter.

Not exactly what you are asking for, but: You could try out Boxcryptor Classic ( https://www.boxcryptor.com/en/classic ), free for personal use.
