At the end of my session I am getting the following error for a few files.
11:01:43 Error: Cannot move file
"/media/peterm/UPSTAIRS/U2018/Ancestry/Redfern-Jack/Annie-1874/1901-census-Aquilla-Parker~0a4f.ffs_tmp" to
"/media/peterm/UPSTAIRS/U2018/Ancestry/Redfern-Jack/Annie-1874/1901-census-Aquilla-Parker.jpg".
EEXIST: File exists [rename]
This is because peterm/UPSTAIRS is a directory on my backup device, not my computer.
Have I got something configured wrong?
I am using freefilesync 11.9 (Only because 11.14 failed to install.)
Thanks for any advice and help.

BAcking up file on Destination to destination

That is from "fail-safe file copying". It is so the existing copy in the destination doesn't get deleted until the full updated file gets copied over. It then just renames that temp copy to the actual name, but it won't let it for some reason. What if you delete the existing copy in the destination? Is this happening to all files in this location?

Hi,
i experience the same issue while mirroring an imovielibrary (90GB) from a NAS to a local HDD. I tried to remove it from the destination but it always reports the error: ../xxx.ffs_tmp can not be moved to xxx.fppl. ==> results in EEXIST: File exists [rename].
"fail safe copying" should be used.
Btw it is happening with round about > 100 files in that library and even in many other libraries.
What to doooo? thanks in advance

Delete the existing files in the destination and sync again. Maybe there are permissions on these files that prevent deleting?
