I’m getting the following error on some (not all} files:
Cannot copy file
“D:\Pictures\DSC00882.jpg to “\\MYCLOUDULTRA\Pictures\DSC00882”
ERROR_DISK_FULL: There is not enough space on the disk [CopyFileEx]
Or
Cannot copy file
“D:\Pictures\DSC00882.jpg to “\\MYCLOUDULTRA\Pictures\DSC00882-9879.ffs.tmp”
ERROR_DISK_FULL: There is not enough space on the disk [CopyFileEx]
There is more than enough space on my new Western Digital My Cloud EX2 Ultra which replaced an older one (same size) that worked for years without issue. The target WD MyCloud drive has over 2 TB free and is mapped as W Drive in Network (\\MYCLOUDEX2ULTRA) (W:)
I’m using Mirror Synchronize to make a copy of my Documents, Pictures, Music, and Video files from my Win 11 Pro PC. I also do the very same to a USB drive attached to the PC and they all mirror copy without issue.
In Documents all but a couple return the error message but in Pictures only 99.8 GB out of 101 GB get copied. Those that don’t return the error message. Again, those that don’t copy to the MyDrive do so to the USB drive using the same settings. The Properties of those files that don’t get copied is the same as those that do. They are mostly just simple .jpg photos same as those that do get copied.
I’m running the latest version 14.8 and have tried to run it as Administrator. I have also tried with and without Fail-Safe File Copy. Hopefully I’m just missing a simple setting somewhere but as of now I’m really stumped.

What happens if you try to copy them manually?

Ugh! I didn't even think of that - I get a Not Enough Space error in Windows so it's obviously not a FFS issue. What happens if you try to copy them manually? xCSxXenon, 26 Mar 2026, 19:59

Check the SMART health of the drive(s). If healthy, you can try chkdsk on the source drive. Clearly something is corrupted with those files, chkdsk might fix a file system issue. If the SMART attributes show that the source is failing, you might need data recovery efforts to retrieve files off it. Also, what if you try copying it to something else locally, instead of to the NAS?

I added new HDs to test and got the same error so it's the NAS, not the drives. Now I see that even my "newer" Western Digital My Cloud EX2 Ultra will end support in 2026 so I ordered a new UGREEN NAS and will go on from there.
Thank you for taking the time. I really appreciate it.
