HELP! I just donated and downloaded FreeFileSync v8.9 and I can't get it to work. I'm using WIN 10 on both platforms - a desktop PC and a laptop. I've followed a number of threads and nothing works: I've "run as administrator", I've changed FFS option to "copy locked files", I've unchecked "read-only" both computers' folders and I still get the error message. Why won't it work?

Thanks in advance!

I have the same error. I'm also using windows 10. I'm syncing to an external USB 2 drive, I've set all users with full permissions to this drive. and I've tried running FreeFileSync as administrator.

I'm including a graphic attachement with an example of the error, but I get 100's of this error.

thx for the help!

I think this program is amazing: after a very fast scan everything is working perfectly! When one is searching for "error code 5", one is finding something in "the forum" immediately on this subject.

Maybe, I don't know, the problems above has to do with exclude items with F7.

I hope so. This worked until now anyway in my case.

Until sofar the first time that this didn't work is with y:\found.000.

Then I get error code 5, but it is not a big problem, because one can tell the program to ignore this, so that the user AND the program don't know what to do with this.

So I think with or without error code 5 it's still a amazing perfect working very fast program.
