Is it possible to set One Drive as the receiver to make a backup of important file that I can take anywhere, thanks in advance for any help.

You can sync to the OneDrive folder that is locally stored on the computer. Then that will upload it to the OneDrive cloud. You can't, currently, sync directly to the cloud.

Sorry but I cannot seem to do that as I do not know the source path of that folder.
Thanks very much for your help but I am not as clever as some of you here.
What I am trying to do is update a folder that is currently on the one drive, from my PC so that I can update as often as required.
Thanks again for your help

Well when you set up OneDrive, you told it where to store the contents locally. You may have missed it, but you had to get past a screen that said the location. With that in mind, it is probably in your user folder. You can check by opening file explorer and typing in "%homeprofile%" into the URL bar. There should be a 'OneDrive' folder in there. If so, your local OneDrive path it "C:\Users\xxxxxx\OneDrive\", where xxxxxx is your username
