I am using the donation version ... after update to 12.0 (I am on Mac Ventura 13.2) I did loose massive writing speed to the SSD. Before it was about 600 mbits and now it is only 60.
I did have that with one of the older updates as well ... but installing it again did solve the problem.
Does not help this time ... any ideas what might be wrong?!

Does the previous version bring it back to full speed?

Oh sorry ... wrong language ... ;-)
Just tried a downgrade ... but did not help. Still that slow - but the SSD is fast as normal - using another test.

So what is the problem here?! Obviously FreeFileSync lost writing speed on Ventura update(s)?!
Anyone else with that problem or anyone without (!) that?

Well if it worked on a previous version, became slow after updating, but then stayed slow after downgrading, it is unlikely to be related to FFS in any way

Your reaction suggests that if that would in fact be the case, you blame FFS ...

That's my guess as anything else seems to work absolutely normal. So would be great to hear from others if they have a problem too - or if they don't. That would help to find out the reason why.

What if you went back to the old OS version?

^---Just tried a downgrade ... but did not help.
Are you saying that the SSD is fast in normal, general operations, but the SSD is fast as normal - using another test.
or are you saying that the SSD is fast when syncing to it, in a similar manner, by some means other then by FFS?
What type of sync are you running?
What are your source & target devices?

The SSDs (both) are fast as normal ... when copying files for example or using a speed test.^---Just tried a downgrade ... but did not help.

What do you mean with what type?!
I didn't change anything since a long time.
The same with source (internal SSD) and target (external SSD)

file time & size, content, size (alone) ?type of sync
And to be clear...
If you now copy a 600 MB file, using FFS, from your internal to your external,
it would take ~1:20 to copy?
And if you take that same 600 MB file, but use some other utility (even cp) to copy from your internal to your external,
it would take ~9 seconds to copy?

Different file sizes and contents ... does not matter.
The most used size is around 60MB. Lots of those.
Yes that is (nearly) the difference.
The new update to 12.1 did not bring back old speed.
