Hi,
I use a CMD file on my Windows installation stick to install FFS Donation edition silently
and i usually rename the two files (is clearer and simpler)
FreeFileSync_12.1_[Donation_Edition]_Setup.exe --> FreeFileSync.exe
FreeFileSync_12.1_[Donation_Edition]_Setup.key --> FreeFileSync.key
The command is FreeFileSync.exe /VERYSILENT
Unfortunately this no longer works, an error message appears - see screenshot:
If I leave the filenames unchanged, it works. BUT only under windows, i.e. if I start it from the desktop while windows is running. When I try this with my installation stick, it doesn't work, the installation is simply skipped. Whether named or not.
My Question is, what was changed there? Please change this back to work the way it did before.
Unfortunately, it is unusable as it is now... it worked wonderfully before :-(
Silent Install doesn't work anymore v12.1

Confirmed.
Do you, or have you installed &/or run FFS from a directory other then "Program Files"?
(Actually, I'm unsure how the .exe installer installs to a flash drive?
Oh, what you install to a HDD, then copy to a flash drive, is that what you do?)
In any case, running the .exe /verysilent, & FreeFileSync.exe at that, while it did fail (same message as above), it did in fact actually "install" (in my case) into C:\FreeFileSync (rather then into "Program Files"), though the install itself is "corrupted". (Not sure where the expected install is supposed to go to, offhand?)
Seems it has to do with animal.dat (which causes the "corrupted" message).
/silent also fails.
"Cannot get process information. Inno Setup installer process not found"

Nope, that's not it.Appears the install.dat file is not being generated.

No.

No only SSD.
Sorry, my english is not the best :-) I simply copied the .exe and .key file to the desktop to test.
Installation runs over the .cmd file. Simply two tests (Screenshot and Videos):
1.
Not renamed - it works.
2.
Renamed - gets the error.
The other thing is, during the automatet installation of my windows nothing works anymore.
Not even the first method, which still works on the desktop. With previous versions everything worked wonderfully. Whether I renamed etc...

They release every 3-4 on average, and we are 5 weeks out since 12.1
Probably buttoning up some bigfixes
