If I change e.g. data in tags of a FLAC file, its size will change; and [if I set so in my tagging program] also its date
How do I then avoid being prompted about difference in size and / or time between newly tagged original and its older versions? Am I suppose to choose the
Actions > Comparison settings > File time and size
and
Actions > Comparison settings > Ignore errors
options?
But what if they are any other errors? Will I then be not informed about them - and thus will go on believing that RealTimeSync working silently in the background is mirroring my data with automated synchronization, while in fact it will be maintaining a backup that becomes mismatched more and more as the time goes by and a make more and more changes to my files [while retaining their names]?
Avoiding errors afer updating meta data in files

To start out with:
It is FreeFileSync (FFS) that is mirroring your data, not RealTimeSync (RTS).
RTS will only launch FFS (or any other application you may specify) upon detecting any changes in the RTS monitored folders.
So, anything related to your sync is configured in FFS, not in RTS.
It seems you are using the Update sync variant (in the Synchronization Settings (F8) ).
In your scenario, if you run a Compare in FFS, there will be a lighting icon in between the left and right file (=Conflict / item can not be categorized) for your above referred to files.
Assuming you always change your meta-data in left-side file and want the right-side file to follow track, you can instead select and define a Custom sync variant.
For the middle Difference Category, you then change the corresponding Action from a lighting icon (Leave as unresolved conflict) into the green, right-pointing icon (Update right item). Just click on the Action icon to cycle though the available options.
Assuming you were using the Update variant, make sure the right two Action icons are a minus-icon (Do nothing).

I am trying to think now of a situation when right side is following blindly the state of the left side but nevertheless I should be informed of some dissimilarity between them - but I cannot come up with one. After all I am trying to work within paths on my left and have them mirrored in paths on right, so there should be no concerns for me, right [i.e. if I mess up / loose the originals I will automatically mess up / lose the backup]? So I am good now?

If you "mess up" (make unintended changes) the above is true for a Mirror sync, an Update sync and your Custom sync (as discussed above).
If by "loose" you mean: accidentally delete, then your statement is correct for a Mirror sync, but not for an Update sync, and for your Custom sync it depends on what Action you select for the most right Difference Category "File exists right-side only".
But your concern is where you can use Versioning.
Any existing files in (in your case) your right-side location that will get overwritten or deleted by an FFS sync will then be moved to the selected Versioning location, in an identical folder structure as that in the base locations. You can retain as many previous versions as you select for as long as you select.
