Some time ago I was using some software to backup my data, and when I got a new computer and upgraded to a new windows version I was unable to access any of my backups. The tech guy at the computer store told me that backup software should never be used because it always tags something on which does not guarantee you can access it again after an upgrade and therefore one should always use widows copy and paste when backing up.
Now I have everything on my computer and I need something that will be reliable. What I'm asking here is:
How does FFS do it's copying when you do a sync? Just need to know that I won't have a problem down the line with backup files that I can't access. I intend on upgrading to a new computer within a year and upgrading windows and I can't afford to lose access to the backups.

FFS will work fine! FFS does not encrypt anything or put it into a proprietary format. It is a really advanced copy/paste utility, with other features as well

If so, then software like "File Analyzer" should be able to pick up on it (my guess).
