Why isn't the ffs_lock file deleted after the sync job is done?

There are now over three hundred ffs_lock files in my destination folder, I know that ffs_lock files are used to prevent multiple processes from accessing them at the same time, but now that the synchronisation of the files has been completed, why haven't they been deleted?

My target path is a cloud drive mounted locally, other than that I can't think of anything else that could interfere with it as I'll just use it for syncing and don't need it for anything else!
