[attachment=0]20230201 141626-Freefilesyncerror- .jpgI just use basic setup with 3 directorys from windows so backup (pictures, documents, another Folder)
When I run it first time, it synchronizes as wanted. After rerun it deletes everything. first check shows: left side full, right side empty (new backup Dir) - run/check again, left side ist empty, right side not, and then everything is deleted.
Is happens with version below, but still with newest too.
no more ideas - its a basic setup where I just created 2 jobs for different target discs. (no real syncronisation, just mirror from left two right side)
thx

Your screen-shot shows your 3rd left-right pair uses the E:\BackupW11b location.
You should replace E:\BackupW11b by E:\BackupW11b\MyPhoneExplorer.
Then you avoid overlaps between your right-side locations, and thereby also the unintended deletions.

Yup, You are syncing "MyPhoneExplorer" on the left to "E:\BackupW11b on the right. Since the folder on the left doesn't include the data that is on the destination, it is set to delete it

There should be warning messages when attempting to sync that indicate the configuration error.

thx... The "myphone...." is the only one that most works!
The problem is, that Documents and Pictures are totally deleted because after once with backup and run again then left side shows "nothing" - and that deletes everything on right side that was copied the run before!
So the Scenario toggles between:
left side - full / right side empty .... backup is done
left side - empty / right side full .... backup is restroyed...
The warning message that appears in both cases is "totally different...." nothing else.

By deleting the content of Documents and Pictures in your left-side location after the sync, you create the problem yourself.
If you then again run a Mirror sync, the right-side is made equal to the left-side (=empty).
You probably want to change to sync variant from Mirror into Update. The Update variant leaves any content in the righ-side location intact if its counterpart in the left-side location does not or no longer exist.

nobody is deleting content - only FreeSync deletes.
left side is still full of the real Data that should by mirrored, but after first run, the left side isnt found anymore, and so the mirror says: delete the right side too - and backup is destroyed...
An "update" may not destroy the right side backup, but it wont do backup, because left side is empty. And in addition - if it would work - you never get rid of deleted files you no longer need from left side.
But thats a "finetuning" thing.
Problem is: why ist left side empty after first run ? Its a permanent toggle between left/right side empty. (a sychnronize may be dangerous to your real left side date... wont try that, result: both sides are empty ! deadly)

I can reproduce this! You do have a configuration error, but the fact that there's no warning message about it with hints how to resolve it is a bug. It's a regression of viewtopic.php?t=9874

No, you just have to set proper exclude filters to avoid processing a certain set of files with both folder pairs.
