mirror syncing minds both sides changed?

Get help for specific problems

Hi Everybody,
thanks & congratulations for great software!
I'm using it to sync from network server folder to usb key, and I get a
strange warning (I hope to re-translate it right into english 'cause I see it
in italian):

> Sono presenti conflitti irrisolti! (2)
"dir1\dir2\file.doc": Entrambi i lati sono cambiati dall'ultima
sincronizzazione!
"dir1\file.xls": Entrambi i lati sono cambiati dall'ultima sincronizzazione!
Puoi ignorare i conflitti e continuare la sincronizzazione.

that is to say:
Unresolved conflicts (2)
"dir1\dir2\file.doc": both sides changed!
"dir1\file.xls": both sides changed!

Well, I thought I did a mirror sync (from left to right only), silent and
"ignoring errors", so I have no idea why the software tells me that there are
conflicts, I just want to copy from left to right, no matter if right is
newer, bigger or what else (comparision is time/size btw)

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but can't understand why, and none of this
conflicted files is copied...

Thank you very much for any suggestion or help :-)

This conflict only comes up when you sync in <automatic> mode. So recheck your
sync-configuration you'll likely have the "automatic mode" checkbox flagged in
batch configuration.

For sure "automatic mode" is checked, but maybe I didn't understand how it
works...
I scheduled the program to start 8 p.m. (one hour after I leave office) in
order to let it sync new or modified file & folders with a backup usb key
attached to the pc. Well, in my idea I DO WANT automatic sync, but I don't
understand while the program is bothered by conflicts: the sync is "copy all
left to right, and if right is newer, copy anyway, and if right is biggest,
copy anyway, and... just copy from left to right, ok?", so what conflicts can
come from this?

If I uncheck "automatic mode", does the program come out with popups asking me
what I want to do with conflicting files? (and stopping all the work?)

The sync configuration as seen in the batch config screen slighly differs from
its presentation on main GUI (although all settings are logically equivalent).
This is probably the source of your confusion. For v3.7 I plan a renovation of
the batch config screen, harmonizing with main GUI screens and thous making it
more self-explanatory (hopefully).

Nevertheless, you said you want a one-way mirror sync, therefore: Uncheck
"automatic mode" checkbox and see that the individual sync-directions all go
from left to right. This will do what you want.
