FreeFileSync.exe has encountered a problem

I installed FreeFileSync 3.7 on my Windows XP, SP2 desktop on which IE 6 was
running. When I started FreeFileSync.exe, there was an error message:
"FreeFileSync.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience." Please could someone technically experienced advise
how I could go about fixing this problem. Thanks in advance.
