How to fix this? I read some of the other threads on this but the answers were too technical for me to figure out. Is there a simple solution?

You'll have to figure out why that volume is set to read-only and disable it

From my time using Parted Magic, I typically use '/media/sda1/' or something similar, I don't see any volume designations in your paths. I don't know if that matters or not. This is one of those "just Linux things" that keep people on Windows
