Once you run compare you have the 2 main windows marked relative path.
On the left windows are the files to be written, on the right the destination path.
Between the two windows there are 3 columns. 1 marked 'action', 1 marked 'difference' and 1 with no mark but it lists checkboxes all of which are ticked. 1 tick for a folder and any subfolder, and a tick for each file within those folders.
You can click to deselect files 1 by 1, or click on the tick for the folder icon to take the entire folder out of the process.
So, if there are 1,000 files in that folder and you only want 1 copied, you have to deselect 999 files manually. Would it be possible to somehow mark the 1 file you want to copy, but select the other 999 automatically? Sort of like an inverse selection button?
Here's where this would be useful:
You install a new browser with 80 Locales files but you only need the US file. Backing up you could choose the installation folder, but only the one US locales file and not all the rest. There's an awful lot of megabytes unneeded that would be taking up backup space.

For repeated syncing, you would want to use a proper filter setup to take care of that. For the occasional one-off, you can highlight the one file and push ENTER or right-click it and sync it on its own
