I have a mirror configuration consisting of my main desktop drive and a USB flash drive. The desktop drive has a Recycle bin; the USB flash does not.
I recently had a need to swap sides. I finally noticed if the Synchronization 'delete and overwrite' setting is set to Recycle bin (instead of Permanent), when swapped so the flash drive is the target, the log will post a warning that the flash drive does not have a recycle bin.
Please consider adding a side-specific options, such that the USB could be set to Permanent delete, and the desktop drive set to Recycle bin.

The warning is just that: a warning.
It does not block anything; your FFS sync will run just fine.
As an alternative you can use Versioning.
This will retain as many previous versions as you select for as long as you select, in a user-specified location.
Much more flexible than, and not depending on a Recycle Bin, or the availability of thereof.
