batch fails - cannot find source drive using URL

Works fine in interactive but fails in batch under Server 2008 task schedule. Using Administrator for all, tried \\server\files and \\192.168.1.10\files and mapped drive G:\file but still will not find them in batch. Have already logged into \\server and got popup to authenticate so did this as Administrator and saved details. Run out of ideas now, help most welcome

Note - I entered 2 backslashes in front of server but the post only showed 1 backslash. Here is a test with 1,2 and 3 backslashes \server \\server \\\server

So looks like we need to enter 3 \ to get 2 displayed
