Challenge: Mirroring Files that are currently beeing used

Hi guys,
just installed freefilesync and I am realy thrilled with the transparancy of this tool ... you realy see what's going on...
Nevertheless I do face one challenge:
I want to automatically mirror/backup my MS-Outlook PST (Emails) file frequently which does not work since freefilesync apparently does not create a snapshot of the source file to backup ....
In other words: only if Outlook is completely closed the mirroring/backup can be executed. This of course means that you can't run the backup process for files that are currently being used automatically in the background. You basically would have to trigger the backup manually....
Is there any solution for this issue I might not have understood/found
