Not reading external drives on a directory on an internal drive

I have 10 external drives, ranging from 3TB to 6TB. 5 are mirrors of the other 5. I recently connected all 10 to separate paths to empty directories instead of drive letters. 5 are to drives on D: and their 5 mirrors to drives in I:. I have Windows 10 and FFS 13.4 donation edition. Today I tried comparing 2 drives and FFS said the folders and files on one of the drives do not exist. I reverted to 13.3, same, reinstalled 13.4. After rebooting the same problem but now the drive that FFS thought was empty was the one on the left, not the right. Before finding FFS a few years ago I had to check the contents of 2 drives were identical manually. Very tedious when 1000s of files are involved. I hope this problem can be solved quickly.

Seems ok now after I took a break. Guess it was operator error.
