This isn't a feature request or bug report but rather a curiosity. I started the transition form Windoze to Linux (Zorin and Mint21) a while ago and noticed a difference in the way FFS operates.
I use FFS to sync between a USB drive that I carry on my keyring and a collection of desktops and laptops.
On my windoze boxes comparison goes fairly quick but sync can take forever if there are lots of small files.
The converse is true for the Linux machines. Comparison takes up to four times longer for a similar set of folders/files but synching happens so fast if you're not watching you would think it didn't happen.
I guess the thing I would like to know is if there is a way to speed up comparison.
TIA
