I have started using FreeFileSync instead of SyncToy, and I like it. It is faster than SyncToy when each of my folder pairs is synchronized individually. To save having to repeatedly Compare and Synchronize each folder pair separately, I created a batch file with all of them in it. But when I run the batch process from the interface (as opposed to scheduling it to run at certain times, which I have not tried and don't want to do), it takes much longer than doing all of them individually does. What could be the reason for this?
Thanks for any insight you can give me.

Why are you making separate batches rather than putting all of the folder pairs into 1 batch?

Unless I misunderstand what you mean, that's exactly what I have done. I have a single batch that contains all of my folder pairs. Why are you making separate batches rather than putting all of the folder pairs into 1 batch?srjones67
