Can't get items to update & move rather than deleting & creating new ones.

I want to prevent unnecessary wear on my HDD so I don't want my edited DriveA files to be deleted and new ones created on DriveB, I simply want the files on DriveB updated.

Here is an example where I only renamed a folder.

You can see the two settings I tried and the results I got, neither of which seems to be what I want, I would expect just a plain green arrow for the Actions. I have no idea what the green arrow in the Right column "Update" is supposed to mean but I tried it anyway. I can confirm my databases hidden files were created before attempting any edits.
