How can I synchronise a folder on my laptop with a folder on my Network Attached Storage device? I am using a Linux laptop (Mint 14) linked to a Seagate GoFlex Home device, which shows up and operates under the network section of File Explorer.
However, the location address that I get for the folder when I view it in File Explorer is not recognised by the FreeFileSync program - it starts with afp://steve@GoFlexHome.local/....

Got it (from the Mint forum) - I am using Mint 14, Cinnamon, the path might be different under different Linux setups
the Network folder (a GoFlex NAS drive) also has a path here;
/run/user/*my_username*/gvfs/afp-volume:host=GoFlexHome.local,user=*my_username*,volume=*my_username*/GoFlex Home Public/*any folder within*
That's quite some path name, but it can be entered into FreeFileSynch and accepted, then the prog works
Its a brilliant piece of software by the way - understandable, because of its well designed GUI, and highly customizable so you can get exactly the synchronisation, backup or mirroring between two folders that you need
